This wonderful, small hotel has taken Portofino by storm. In fact, the hotel manager, Giovanni Caprino is like the unofficial mayor of the town. He knows everyone and is a master at looking after his guests. Since the hotel opened, guests have been delighted to find a beautiful and less expensive option in this well-known fishing village. Situated at the opposite end of the street that goes down to the port, the hotel is like an oasis with pastel colors and aromatherapy. The ground floor has a lobby bar and lounge, and on the first floor (our second floor in the USA), there is a lovely breakfast room that can double as a meeting room. And now, a delightful option is breakfast served in the hotel's tree-shaded private garden, weather permitting. Amenities include private guest parking (very important in Portofino where parking is severely limited) and a large outdoor Jacuzzi (for soaking those tired muscles after walking around Portofino). All rooms have double paned glass windows, hardwood floors, individual heating and air conditioning controls, plasma televisions (with internet access through the television), in-room safes and mini-bars. Most bathrooms have windows. Among the accommodations are standard (very nice here) and superior rooms, junior suites and one suite. Walls are a warm yellow. In the lower level of the building, the owners have created a sauna, steam bath and a room to relax with music and a cup of tea - even a massage (on request).
