This hotel brings a new level of luxury to Siena. Located in the historic center, the building was originally a private palazzo dating to the 14th century. The reception area has a glass covered atrium with glass elevators where the restaurant and wine bar are located. On the "piano nobile" (the floor above the ground floor), many of the accommodations include original frescoes, and one features a 15th century painting of St. Christopher. Another is an octagonal corner room connecting to a junior suite, one of several accommodations perfect for families. Not to be missed is the ancient ballroom, completely frescoed in the three dimensional style of the 16th century Sienese School. During the excavations, a 12th century enoteca was discovered beneath the villa. It has been restored and is used for winetastings. The Altana Suite, located in the tower with its own staircase entry, is bi-level with a 360º panoramic view of Siena. Nine of the junior suites are located on the top floor, each with its own terrace and view. Rooms have all the amenities expected of a luxury property.

NOTE: Cars will be permitted to drive to the hotel only to drop luggage, as vehicles are restricted in the city center. A parking garage is located just outside the historic center.
