The newest five-star in Amalfi, this hotel is absolutely stunning! Created in a 13th century monastery and cloister that had had no investment made in more than 40 years, the construction crews were not allowed to bring in a crane so all the materials were carried either by mule or by the construction crew on foot! Whoever saw this hotel years ago (when it was the Convento dei Cappuccini) will not believe it now!
The original path that leads into the center of Amalfi has been restored and begins at the new and beautiful infinity pool. The chapel is consecrated (what a place for a wedding!) and the choir area can host a small meeting! Rooms are contemporary in décor including unique lighting fixtures, muted colors and marble bathrooms. The stone floors are original and have all been refinished.
Facilities include a full-service spa and fitness center as well as a restaurant. When guests arrive (check-in parking is just across the street), they are met at the entrance by hotel staff and taken upstairs in the new elevator that has been built into the rock! Once upstairs, one enters an oasis of calm and beauty. This hotel is being welcomed warmly in Amalfi and offers a unique experience for discerning clients.
