Opened in 1834 by the present owner's great grandmother, this beautiful hotel is situated on a cliff overlooking the Mediterranean, with a view of Mount Vesuvius and the Gulf of Naples. It is surrounded by fragrant lemon and lime groves. In fact, the hotel's new holistic spa La Serra, the newest addition to the amenities, is located among the groves in what was formerly a greenhouse The hotel's restaurant serves excellent cuisine, all of which is made fresh to order in their $1 million kitchen. Service throughout the hotel, provided by a staff of 100, is excellent. There are connecting rooms for families of up to five persons, and many have sea view. Don't miss an aperitif on the hotel's spacious terrace overlooking the sea. Sorrento is approximately 40 minutes from Naples and Pompeii by car, and tours of the Amalfi Coast and Pompeii can be arranged.
