Located in the fertile Piemonte countryside near (20 km) the town of Asti and only 40 km from Alba, this property was originally a 17th century convent. The gardens surrounding the property and swimming pool are beautiful, and the ancient convent building is magnificent. The atmosphere here is quiet and relaxing. Most of the accommodations are located in a much newer building reached from the lobby by at least one flight of steps, depending on which level the room is on. Do not plan to bring a lot of luggage here! And this is not a suitable property for those that have difficulty walking. Rooms have been air-conditioned and 5 new suites have been completed. All are equipped with in-room safe, ceiling fan, and hair dryer. Evenings are normally cool except in August. The restaurant at the hotel has an excellent reputation and is fully booked most nights. Food and wine are very important in this area and the restaurant here does not disappoint, both in these terms as well as service. The continental breakfast buffet is brimming with fresh fruit, home made bakery items, cheeses and meats. A visit to a winery in this area is a must.
