Masseria San Domenico

This is by far the most glamorous masseria in Puglia. The owners have made a huge investment, and their new full service spa in its own building is FABULOUS! Everything about it is top notch. There are 50 accommodations, 10 of which are suites. There is an IMMENSE swimming pool outdoors plus a children's pool nearby and another pool in the spa - with a glass ceiling that can be opened in summer - as well as tennis courts and an excellent workout facility. The spa with a thalassotherapy center is very professionally run and is obviously the owner's baby. The goal is to provide a tranquil and relaxing stay for hotel guests; therefore, children under 7 are not permitted in the restaurant for dinner, nor will the hotel put extra beds for children in the rooms. They also do not accept groups except on a very special exception in low season when they take over the whole property. During high season, there is piano music nearly every night in the attractive new bar. The hotel's beautiful restaurant is located in what was once an olive mill (this property dates to 15th century). Suites have 1 1/2 baths. The largest suite, the San Domenico Suite, is sea view with a huge terrace and has two bedrooms and two bathrooms, one with shower, the other with tub. Some ground floor junior suites have a small patio facing the olive groves and there are MILES of olive groves in Puglia. The owners have also built an 18-hole golf course near the sea with a 35,000 sq. ft. clubhouse with bar, restaurant, sauna, and steam room. Guests can go down the beautiful long drive to the sea by golf cart or in a shuttle bus.
