This very trendy "design" hotel in Via Giulia, one of the most important streets in Rome for its antiques dealers, churches and old noble palazzi, opened in January 2007 in a building that dates back to 500 BC! In fact, what were formerly the catacombs have been made into a nicely appointed spa with small fitness room, sauna, huge Jacuzzi, and treatment rooms. Once you enter the hotel from the street, the atmosphere is very calm and tranquil. With interiors using neutral shades interspersed with black. The lobby features open space that flows one into the other and includes a very attractive lobby bar and restaurant - Sofa di Via Giulia - which serves typical cuisine presented in a contemporary style. The very quiet rooms are all similar in decor and feature every detail necessary for a guest's comfort. There are three different outdoor spaces on three different levels, one of which features a fountain, and these can be used for outdoor dining, aperitifs or receptions during fine weather. One special terrace, "Terrazza Rosé", is a rooftop terrace dedicated exclusively to rosé wines, and is where guests can delight in savoring various varieties of this wine while overlooking the beauty of Rome.
