Hotel Stendhal
C. Italy: Lazio: Rome
One of the newest entries in Rome, the Hotel Stendhal opened in May 2003 with an enviable position on Via Tritone, just steps from Piazza Barberini and Via Sistina, at the top of which are the Spanish Steps. The hotel is the latest creation of the owners of JDB's popular Hotel Mascagni. After a two-year top to bottom renovation, this 17th century "Palazzetto" offers every modern comfort with traditional furnishings and the liberal use of fine woods and marble throughout. Public areas feature a more art deco look while rooms are comfortably and traditionally furnished and are equipped with satellite television, internet access, mini bar and in-room safe. On the entry level are the hotel's breakfast room, salon de thé (with many books on Roman history) and bar where snacks and drinks are available. The management strives for the same feeling of being "in the family" as guests feel at the Hotel Mascagni. The Mascagni is JDB's top selling hotel in Rome, so the Stendhal is a welcome addition to JDB and will no doubt be a huge success.
