JDB Tours do not have to be booked in conjunction with a hotel booking or villa rental. Most vehicles used for Barcelona tours are Opel Omega or Peugot for 1 - 2 passengers; Mercedes Viano or VW Caravelle for 3 - 6 passengers, and 25 seat coaches for 7 or more passengers. However, JDB Ground retains the right to substitute a different vehicle type if necessary. Tour itineraries are subject to change due to site closings, inclement weather, strikes or other unforeseen circumstances. JDB Ground reserves the right to substitute a venue or site during a tour in the event the scheduled site is not available. In rare instances it may be necessary to reschedule the starting time of the tour; in such situations, clients will be notified in advance.
Entrance fees to museums and exhibits are not included in the rate unless indicated, nor are gratuities for drivers and guides. Unless otherwise indicated in the tour description, tours begin at either 9:30 a.m. or 3:30 p.m. and are available daily. Preference for either morning or afternoon tour must be indicated at the time of booking. Please indicate at the time of booking if the client has a physical disability. The guide will meet clients at their hotel, unless another meeting point is designated in the itinerary. Rates are subject to change.

Best of Barcelona Walking Tour

Meet your expert guide at your hotel to begin a guided walking tour of the Barcelona Gothic Quarter and the Eixample, the Modernist (Art Nouveau) area of the city. See the 13th century Gothic cathedral, the old Call of Barcelona (Jewish quarter), and the modernist buildings of the Eixample, many of which are acknowledged by UNESCO as World Heritage sites. Stroll the Paseo de Gracia, the famous street known for the contrast in the architecture of its buildings. View the works of Antoni Gaudi, often labeled the best modern artist, who incorporated Gothic and Baroque styles and Islamic art to create his own personal style of architecture.

Best of Modernism Walking Tour
4 Hours
Your expert guide will meet you at your hotel for transfer by taxi (to be paid separately) to the Eixample, where most modernist buildings are located, many of which have been designated World Heritage sites. A cultural movement dating to the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Modernism (also known as Art Nouveau) influenced literature, theatre, architecture, fine arts, decoration and the design of furniture and other objects. Along the Paseo de Gracia is the street known as the "block of discord" that contains buildings of various architectural styles dating to the early 20th century. See examples of modernist floral style, modernized Louis XV, neo-Gothic, mosaic facades, tile roofs, Park Güell, one of Antoni Gaudi's masterpieces, and especially La Pedrera, a residential building designed by Gaudi and often described as more sculpture than building.
