JDB Tours do not have to be booked in conjunction with a hotel booking. Most vehicles used for tours or transfers are Mercedes E-class, V-class & 16 seat minibuses. However, JDB Ground retains the right to substitute a different vehicle type if necessary. Tour itineraries are subject to change due to site closings, inclement weather, strikes or other unforeseen circumstances. JDB Ground reserves the right to substitute a venue or site during a tour in the event the scheduled site is not available. In rare instances it may be necessary to reschedule the starting time of the tour; in such situations, clients will be notified in advance.

Entrance fees to museums and exhibits are not included in the rate unless indicated, nor are gratuities for drivers and guides. Unless otherwise indicated in the tour description, tours begin at either 9:00 a.m. or 2:00 p.m. and are available daily. Preference for either morning or afternoon tour must be indicated at the time of booking. The guide will meet clients at their hotel, unless another meeting point is designated in the itinerary. Clients staying in private apartments will be advised of the meeting point in their tour confirmation. Rates are subject to change.

Ancient Rome

Enjoy a magnificent tour of the eternal city's most fascinating ancient monuments. Begin at the Coliseum where gladiators once fought, then walk among the buildings of the Roman Forum to learn its intriguing history. See the famous Venice Square and its Palace, the Circus Maximus, the Golden House and the Arch of Constantine.

Entry fees for the Forum and Coliseum of € 20 per person are additional and will be charged to the client's credit card. If the client cancels the tour or changes the date of the tour, the ticket cost is NOT refundable. Includes car and driver and private guide.

Classic Rome

Visit Rome's most beautiful treasures on this traditional overview of the city, including the Trevi fountain, Piazza Navona, the Spanish Steps, the Pantheon, via del Corso, Piazza del Popolo, and ending with a lovely view from the Pincio Square. Includes car and driver and private guide.

Entry fees of approximately € 9 per person are additional and are paid by the client at the site. Includes car and driver and private guide.

NOTE: Even with a driver, this tour requires some walking in pedestrian areas where cars are not allowed as well as climbing stairs to enter monuments. If notified in advance, JDB can modify the tour to accommodate those with limited mobility.

Classic Rome Walking Tour

See Rome's most beautiful treasures on this traditional walking tour of the city. Visit the Trevi fountain, Piazza Navona, the Spanish Steps and the Pantheon with your private guide.

Entry fees of approximately € 9 per person are to be paid by the client at the site. If necessary, guide and clients will travel by taxi from the clients' hotel to the start of the tour; clients will pay taxi directly.

Treasures of the Vatican
4 Hours
The Vatican Museums contain the extensive artistic heritage collected by Popes throughout the centuries: from Ancient art sculptures, to breathtaking works of the masters, to the galleries of Candelabra, Tapestry and Geographical Maps. Visit the Private Apartments of the Pope, decorated by Raphael, and then admire the magnificent Sistine Chapel with its incomparable paintings by Michelangelo. End your tour with a visit to majestic St. Peter's Basilica to view Michelangelo's "Pietà" and its famous Piazza.

The tour is available Monday through Saturday from 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. It is not possible to request specific entry times, but preference for either a morning or afternoon tour should be stated at the time of booking, as well as any alternate days the client is available to take the tour. Exact pickup time will be advised approximately 55 days prior to the tour. JDB recommends the afternoon tour as the Vatican is usually less crowded. With the exception of July and August, the Basilica is closed on Wednesday mornings and the tour will consist of the Vatican Museum, Sistine Chapel and the Piazza.

Required headsets are included in the rate. Entry fees of € 20 per person including reservations fees are additional and will be charged to the client's credit card at the time of booking. If the client cancels the tour or changes the date of the tour, the ticket cost is NOT refundable. JDB is not responsible for the accuracy of the Vatican's reservation system.

The guide will meet clients at their hotel and they will travel by taxi (to be paid by the client) to the Vatican. The tour ends at St. Peter's Piazza.

The price of Vatican entry tickets is subject to change without notice.

Semi Private Treasures of the Vatican

Join a small group (maximum 6 persons) for a semi-private tour with an expert guide that includes reserved entry to the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel. In addition to being a more economical option, a semi-private Vatican tour may offer greater availability during high demand periods.

The Semi-Private Treasures of the Vatican is available Monday through Saturday, with starting times between 8:15 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. A designated meeting spot near the Vatican will be stated on the client's confirmation, as well as the exact start time of the tour. Please indicate, at the time of booking, a preference for either a morning or an afternoon tour, as well as any alternate days the client could take the tour should his first choice be unavailable.

This semi-private tour option is subject to availability, and there must be at least 4 persons confirmed for the tour to operate. If the minimum requirement of 4 persons is not met 15 days prior to the tour date, the client will be notified and given the choice of switching to the Treasures of the Vatican private tour (higher cost may apply), or canceling without penalty. Cancellation of a semi-private tour without penalty is only possible if JDB is not able to confirm the semi-private option.

An Audience With the Pope

Your driver will meet you at your hotel at 8:00 a.m. to begin a truly memorable day. Proceed to the Vatican, go through security, and then take your reserved seat for the Pope's traditional 11:00 a.m. Wednesday audience, a unique opportunity available to a limited number of persons. At the conclusion of the Audience, meet your guide and stop for a quick snack (optional, additional charge) before beginning your private tour of the Treasures of the Vatican, including the Vatican Museums, the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter's Basilica.

*Includes approximately 2 1/2 hours for security screening.

Includes one way private transfer to the Vatican, reserved seating for the Papal Audience, private guide for 4 hours, and required headsets. Vatican entry fees of € 25 per person are additional (includes reservations fees), will be charged to the client's credit card 30 days prior to travel, and are not refundable.

NOTE: Due to the very limited access to seats for the Pope's audience, tickets must be requested a minimum of 45 days in advance, and are always subject to availability. In the event tickets are not available, the client has the choice of requesting the tour on an alternate date, substituting the Treasures of the Vatican tour, or canceling the tour without penalty.

Occasionally, after tickets have been confirmed by the Vatican, the Wednesday audience is cancelled. In this instance, the Treasures of the Vatican tour will be substituted, the guide will meet the clients at their hotel, and the private one-way transfer is included.

Available on Wednesdays only, except during the month of August. The tour ends at St. Peter's Piazza.

Underground Rome
3 Hours
Rome's subterranean catacombs are underground cemeteries where many saints and several early Popes are buried. Visit two of the following catacombs: Domitilla, Rome's largest, with about 80 painted tombs and an underground basilica; San Callisto, with lovely wall frescoes; or San Sebastiano, with ancient graffiti invoking St. Peter and St. Paul who were thought to have been buried there at one time. Then visit the church of San Clemente, with three underground levels, the lowest of which was originally a temple dedicated to the pagan cult of Mithras.

Entry fees of approximately € 10 are additional and are to be paid by the client at the site.
