JDB Tours do not have to be booked in conjunction with a hotel booking, private villa or apartment rental. Most vehicles used for tours or transfers are Mercedes E-class, V-class & 16 seat minibuses. However, JDB Ground retains the right to substitute a different vehicle type if necessary. Tour itineraries are subject to change due to site closings, inclement weather, strikes or other unforeseen circumstances. JDB Ground reserves the right to substitute a venue or site during a tour in the event the scheduled site is not available. In rare instances it may be necessary to reschedule the starting time of the tour; in such situations, clients will be notified in advance.

Entrance fees to museums and exhibits are not included in the rate unless indicated, nor are gratuities for drivers and guides. Unless otherwise indicated in the tour description, tours begin at either 9:00 a.m. or 2:00 p.m. and are available daily. Preference for either morning or afternoon tour must be indicated at the time of booking. The guide will meet clients at their hotel, unless another meeting point is designated in the itinerary. Clients staying in private apartments will be advised of the meeting point in their tour confirmation. Rates are subject to change.

Classic Venice

Learn how Venice evolved as a city through the fascinating history of its most important sites: the Bridge of Sighs, the Doge's Palace, the Clock Tower and San Marco Square. See the Golden Basilica with its 89,000 sq, ft. of mosaics and incredible Golden Screen, then walk through the alleys of Venice to reach the Rialto Bridge, the Grand Canal and the Rialto Market.

Entry fees of approximately € 12 per person (6 years and older) are additional, to be paid by the client directly at the site.

Except for Sunday mornings, the tour is available daily at 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Please specify choice at the time of booking.

Ultimate Venice
3 Hours
See Venice by land and by water! Enjoy a magnificant view of Venice from your private boat on an hour's cruise along the Grand Canal, with your guide explaining the history of the buildings you pass by. Then begin a walking tour along Venice's narrow, winding streets, crossing tiny bridges over the many small canals that criss cross the city. See the square where Venetians once built their gondolas, visit San Sebastiano to see the works of Paolo Veronese, and tour Piazza San Marco.

Optional upgrade to a Venetian Gondola. A one half hour gondola ride will be substituted for the hour ride on a private boat.

* Includes a second gondola with headsets for the passengers to hear the guide's commentary.

Three Islands Tour

Meet your expert guide in the lobby of your hotel to begin this tour by private boat of Venice's islands of Murano, Burano and Torcello. On Murano, famous for its age-old art of glass making, visit a private workshop for a demonstration of traditional Venetian glassblowing techniques. Next is the colorful island of Burano, known for its detailed lacework, and finally visit Torcello for a walking tour including the oldest cathedral in Venice with its ancient mosaics and Byzantine marble decorations.

Murano Island Glass Tour

You will be met at your hotel and transferred by private water shuttle to the island of Murano to visit the showroom of one of the world's most renowned hand-blown glass producers, Bisanzio Gallery. Learn about this centuries old art form, see some of the artisans at work, and then view the extensive display of original works of art in the Bisanzio Gallery: beautiful vases, breathtaking chandeliers, imposing sculptures, a vast assortment of stunning decorative items, and even small, elegant pieces such as bottle stoppers, paper weights and jewelry. Exclusively for JDB clients on this tour, there is a $1 = €1 currency conversion rate plus 20% off the printed price of any piece. And, shipping, packing and insurance are included in the item price! Then either return to your hotel or continue to the island of Burano (optional), known for its detailed lacework, where you can enjoy a leisurely lunch (additional cost); the return to Venice from Burano will be by public boat, at the client's expense.
